Use these tips & tricks to keep the summer sun from ruining your car.
Summertime is here, and we’re willing to bet that the first thing on your mind is probably fun in the sun. However, that fun in the sun can wreak havoc on your car if you’re not careful, and that’s why we’re bringing you this awesome list of ways to make sure your car doesn’t fall victim to the scorching rays of the summer sun.
- Park In The Shade: Whenever you can, park your car in the shade. Prolonged exposure to the rays of the sun can lead cracking paint jobs, faded colors, and even cracked leather seats. If there’s nowhere shady to park near you, use reflectors to protect the interior at the very least.
- Keep Your Interior Clean: As anyone from the South knows, there are times in the summer when you can literally cook an egg on the sidewalk. If you take that knowledge and apply it to the interior of your car, the results are no different. If you leave debris on your seats or dashboard, there are pretty decent odds that the sun will bake it right into you car leaving you with unsightly gunk that will travel with you wherever you go.
- Check Fluid Levels Every Week: Most people don’t opt to check their fluid levels every week. Sometimes that’s okay, but if you live in a place that’s incredibly hot, we highly recommend adopting this practice as it’s almost guaranteed to keep your car running smoothly. Bonus Tip: If you feel like the air coming from the air conditioner isn’t cold enough, it’s likely that you need to see a mechanic to take care of the issue or you might find yourself on the road with no AC.
Following these quick tips will definitely help you stay cool in the summertime and keep your car looking great.
